CES 2010

I will be flying to Las Vegas this evening in preparation for CES 2010 (Consumer Electronics Show). I'll be using my Droid to take photos and videos of the cool things I see while I'm there. If you want to follow along, there are links after the jump to my Picasa and Qik profiles.

New Setup

So I had a hard drive fail. If it hasn't happened to you, just know that it can really suck. Fortunately, I was able to get most of my data off the drive before it completely stopped working. Unfortunately, one of the things I couldn't get was the database for this site!

American Shaolin - Review

I recently bought a book at the CSU bookstore. I found it outside the front doors of the bookstore on a clearance cart. The book was American Shaolin a story about a young American boy from Kansas who decided in his junior year at Princeton to go to China and study kungfu at the Shaolin temple.

Star Trek and a Robotic Cat

I've got two pretty amusing links to share.

Obama and Net Neutrality

I've always been wary of the government's position on net neutrality. Throughout the Bush administration, the policy has been a typical conservative stance of non-interference. This allowed internet service providers to lobby against net neutrality and thereby trying to push the internet into the traditional producer-consumer paradigm that defines most other media. Net neutrality must be stopped to ensure a free and open internet that does not inhibit freedom of speech by implementing a service tiered pricing scheme.

So what's the good news?

Weather

We've been having some really rather strange weather for this time of the year. It was 60 degrees Fahrenheit today and it's supposed to be 71 tomorrow. It's the middle of November! It's hard for me to complain though, it just means I get to stay a little warmer on my motorcycle, but this is not boding well for the impending ski season.
